two 1" rods rotate under the ground to lift the roots and
pull the plant out of the ground, the pickup then lifts them
onto the conveyor and windrows them

Re: Pinto Bean Knifing 2005
going through a drown out spot, beans are a little green
that survived but will dry out in a couple days. The "boss"
my pa came out to see if i was getting anything done!! All
knifing on our farm is done at night and early mornings to
reduce shatter.

Re: Pinto Bean Knifing 2005
I see that you got the normal One Step, we have the One Step
Ahead, in front of the tractor.

Could you guys still cut the beans when it was dry at about
3.00 PM.
I started every day at 3.00AM, and had to quit at about
noon/1.00PM.

We will cut earlier/greener next year so we can keep going
the entire day. We were a little to late this year.

This is a picture of the One Step Ahead, were are very
pleased with this machine.

But when it gets to dry all te beans split open and fall af
the plant, so the pickup doesn't pick them up, and we can't
combine them:-\

We lost about 5% of the beans, that is to much!
