Re: speciaal modelleke
The 5050 was build by Kinze Manufacturing. It has a hood
from the 50 Series 4-WDs (8850?). The engine was afaik
Detroit-Diesel or Cummins with about 400 hp. It was called
5050 because it was 50 % JD and 50% Kinze build. That´s what
i remember so far. I have to dig out my Book "JD - New
Generation Tractors" to find out all the facts.

I can´t beleive that this Machine can put all the power to
the ground with only 2-wd. But looks cool.

Re: speciaal modelleke
kijk naar de foto want dr staat 5050 op de sticker. En
waarom kan hij niet al zn kracht op alleen de achterwielen
kwijt? Maakt niet altijd uit hoor.

Re: speciaal modelleke
I know that there is 5050 on the stickers. I only said that
the hood (metal) is from the JD 4 wd tractors. Kinze put
that 5050 stickers on it when they convertet it from a 5020.
Yes 5020!! The Kinze Guys put a sound-gard cab on it. I will
dig out my book today for facts.

Today they still repower JD tractors, now with Cummins
engines:

Re: speciaal modelleke
I think that 5020 was rated at 350HP right? You are correct
on the first one being 400HP. Awsome tractors but I dont
think that all that power could be controlled by a 2wd
tractor but it's still awsome!

Re: speciaal modelleke
I have digged out my JD Book for facts. The 5050 is based on
a 5020 fitted with a Cummins 855 Diesel (400 hp), a
SoundGard Cab from a 4440,fiberglass hood from a 8850 4 WD,
Handbuild fuel tank. The people at Kinze felt it was 50 % JD
and 50 % Cummins/Kinze so they called it 5050. It is a
really rare beast - they only built one.

The other 5020 (with the two exhaust-pipes) was also built
by Kinze, because they thought that he original 5010/20 were
too heavy for their power (+/- 135 hp). So they converted
about 100 5010/5020s between 1968 and 1974 to a Detroit
Diesel 8V71 V8 Engine (275 to 318 hp).

There was never a 5220. In my opinion it is just a result of
a bad scan.

The next bigger (original) model was the 6030. Introduced in
1972, with the old 20 series styling.
