Did you know there is a place in Queensland (Australia) also called Innisfail?

Re: chopping in to trucks
Yes, they had a bad cyclone (like a tornado / hurricane) there earlier in the year, which devastated the town (destoyed houses, etc) & the majority of the Australian banana industry.

The price of bananas went through the roof, so much so that most people could not afford to buy bananas.

I think that things are back on track up there now, with houses & infrastructure rebuilt & the bananas are back into production too :-)

Re: chopping in to trucks
Lucky you :-)

Here at one point they were $26 AUS per kilogram!

Normally in summer here in Tasmania where I am they are about $1.99 - $2.99 AUS per kilogram; currently they are at $6.99 - $7.50 per kilogram!

Re: chopping in to trucks
Ok.

I am sure some of the retailers were profiteering from the banana growers misfortunes!

Super shots! Good to see the big Allis being put to a better use than towing the small square baler :-)

Re: chopping in to trucks
sure is a good packing tractor, but mainly did tillage.
my buddy got a JD 4650 last summer to do the hard work and save the Allis for easy jobs.
parts are verry expensiv and she is burning a lot of fuel when pulling hard.

Re: chopping in to trucks
You dont see alot of Allis tractors over here. I have seen one of these artic tractors here on a farm + a couple of the smaller models elsewhere but they are generally few & far between in this part of the world.
