BIG V 289545 102 Deere 4720 either
Deere 4720
John Deere 4720 sprayer cleaning out the tank at the farm.
This is the new sprayer which was traded for the 4700 Deere.
This sprayer has auto stear, 235hp and a 90ft boom.

Re: Deere 4720
Another pic.
Re: Deere 4720
Farther away.
Re: Deere 4720
How many hectares / hours you put per year to your
machinery? I mean the sprayer, your planter, air seeder and
combine if you have.

Nice pics!!!
Re: Deere 4720
I am not exactly sure but we bought the sprayer this spring
and already it had sprayed I think somewhere near 10,000
acres. We farm about 7200 acres and it has gone up since
last year so I am not sure about the planters. Yes we do
have combines 3 to be exact. We have 3 John Deere 9660sts
combines and actualy traded in one of them for a new bullet
rotor 9660sts so cant wait to try that out this summer. Take
it easy.

Re: Deere 4720
why do you have autosteer on a sprayer? that doesn't work
because you drive so fast it can't react that fast, we tried
it on the 4710 too, but it wont work. you can't go straight
through the field, and your boom is moving forward and back
all the time. we just follow the seedrows. we only spray the
grains/wheat and potatoes with it, we do the beans and beets
with a pulled Hardi 120ft.

take care
Re: Deere 4720
where do you guys live though?
Re: Deere 4720
We farm in lambton county its just on the edge of Sarnia.
Were about an hour south of London Ontario. The autostear
has worked great for us so far. Why dont you just use the
4710 to spray the beans and potatoes instead of having two
sprayers? Where abouts are you located? How many acres do
you farm? Take it easy.

Re: Deere 4720
this was all at the farms of my bosses, not our own farm, we
farm only 450 acres, this is our first year in canada;-)

and we spray the potatoes and grain with the 4710, but i got
2 bosses, 1 came 2,5 years ago to canada, the other one came
1,5 years ago to canada. now they work together with 2
farms. they farm close to 4000 acres this year. but the 1st
boss bought a new hardi sprayer, and the 2nd boss bought the
equipment from his farms' previous owner, so they have 2
sprayers. and because of that they spray the row crop crops
with the hardi because you can drive better through the
rows, with the JD you will drive ON the rows sometimes,
especially when it's wet.

take care,
Re: Deere 4720
The 20series are way better sprayers than the 10series. I
would call the boom balance of a 4920 almost perfect. The
balance of the whole sprayer is improved too. But it's a
pain to drive in between potato rows with every (noth
american)self-propelled machine, especially when the rows
aren't hilled yet. Another problem is sinking of the back.
The older jd sprayers were famous for that and the 4720
still has that problem a little bit. I've seen a farmer
putting on duals on the back of the sprayer.
Re: Deere 4720
yes the weight balance of the 20 series sprayers is way
better than the 10 series. yes hard to drive between the
rows, thats why we spray the beans/beets with the hardi
pulled sprayer. a couple miles from here is a big potatoe
farmer who got the 4920 with duals on the back too.
Re: Deere 4720
Are you sure it isn't a 4720?:-P
