Barley
Barley ready for being harvested. Yield was more than 5
TT/há last december. Soriano, Uruguay.

more than 5 tons per hectar?! we have also harvest 5 - 6 t
per hectar! how much does it rain? quality (protein)?

It rains a lot (1200mm/year), but really bad distributed. It
can fall 200 mm in only one day!!!.
Proteins are lower than 11%. That´s really important because
our´s malt barley. If it pass 11%, it won´t be usefull for
that.
Our weather is bad for winter crops. We have only 2 months
of cold weather. It doesen´t snow, and an usual crop period
is about 4 to 5 months. you plant in june - july and harvest
in november - december.

mean that the other way around?? But if you have a massey I
forgive you for planting in july. because it was in the
garage getting fixed:-P (AGAIN)

Uruguay is in the southern hemisphere, so we plant winter
crops in about winter start (june 21), and we harvest it in
late spring, early summer.
I don´t have masseys, but I used to...
