min Ferguson TEA20
This is my Ferguson, and it runs good, but I dont know the
serial number because the plate is missing. Does anybody
know how to find out?

Hilsen Christoph:-)

Re: min Ferguson TEA20
If the litle plate under the steering wheel is missing you
can't find it out it is the only place that you can find it
at a ferguson te.20 series. You can find the date he is
produced.

Re: min Ferguson TEA20
By the old Internation Harvester tractors you could find the
year of production on the exhaust pipe and by some other in
the rear Rims, it was punched in the rims.

Re: min Ferguson TEA20
the date of production of the ferguson tractors you can find
on the back-end of the tractor next to the break pedal it
exists of 3 numbers like5-12-1 what means 5 december 1951

Re: min Ferguson TEA20
I just went out to look, and there is a number behind the
brake pedal, but I will take longer time to see what the
number exacly is. On the engine there also is a number like
this, and it is 29 10 8. Can this also tell anything,
because I know it isnt newer than 1950.

Re: min Ferguson TEA20
Yes I also thought so, but now I´ve looked at the rear end,
and there tells the number 06-09-1948, so I don´t know what
I have to believe. But I looked at the rear end on our other
Ferguson, and there the number fits to the serial number.

Re: min Ferguson TEA20
the rear end of the tractor isnt always made on the same day
of the motor and the gearbox because the iron got to rest
for a time when they made it.

Re: min Ferguson TEA20
Christoph,

I guess your tractor was made somewhere around mid-November
1948. Wouter is right with the numbers. There is no
possibility to find a closer date, sorry.
