mcmanigal 306244 103 On the Bench either
On the Bench
A pair of 2388 Hillside combines cutting on a "bench"
above Fivemile Creek on Fulton Farms just east of The
Dalles,
Oregon. A Case IH Quad Trac heads off the hill towards the
truck landing at the bottom. :-D

Re: On the Bench
Is there so many rough prairie hillsides in this area, that
are useless for farming ? or is this photo just a rare
exclusion?
It seems there is very little farming soil between the
prairy hillsides.

Re: On the Bench
Here you go Arcane...Mt Hood is to the west. Took this pic
earlier in the day while working on one of our sprayers. In
the pics above, the steep hill above the "bench" blocks the
view of the mountain. This shot shows another bench where I
shot some more of the 2388's today. :-D

Re: On the Bench
Hey there Renze! This is really an exception ....some of
this
ground is either too steep or too rocky....move a little to
the east and the fields are pretty good sized; the one that
we
will start in is over 300 acres in one chunk. :-D

Got closer this morning....they were cutting on a bench
right
above our shop....one of the combines on an outbound leg.

Re: On the Bench
Cuddling up to the cart to unload. Note the extra fuel tank
and the counter weights on the rear axle. The rear tires
also
have ballast in them to keep the combine from being too nose
heavy when headed down hill. :-D

Re: On the Bench
Another shot from behind that shows off the features of this
Hillco equiped 2388. This machine levels to 27% :-D

Re: On the Bench
Hi there Jontiras!! All of the machinery in this thread
belongs to our good friends & neighbors John Fulton & Will
Ford. They just started harvest and happened to be cutting
right next to our shop on lower Eightmile Creek. Couldn't
pass up a chance to shoot some pictures of their good
looking
outfit :-d Here are a couple more for you.
