6030 Power
One of our 6030’s with a 25’ harrow. It has dynoed at 227hp
and will pull that harrow in 5th gear with ease.
Re: 6030 Power
When was this one built ??

In europe, you dont see them.
What size of engine do they have, and how much horses ??
Re: 6030 Power
Hello Renze. These were both made between 1972-1975. They
are rated at 175hp from the factory but most of them
actually make about 220-230hp. These two have both been
dynoed at around 230hp.
Re: 6030 Power
Renze, these tractors have 531 cubic inch engines that are
turbocharged and intercooled with eight-speed transmissions.
They are “bulletproof” if maintained properly and although
they like a lot of fuel, we only paid about $10,000 U.S.
dollars apiece for them. They are a great source of cheap
Re: 6030 Power
Is 531 Cu. Inch the 7.6 litre as used in the 4955 ??

Were there earlier 6000 series tractors, or did they came
later, in addition to the 4020/4030 ??
Re: 6030 Power
Hi Renze. The 6030 was the only tractor offered by Deere
with a “6000“ designation until the later 6000 series came
out in the 1990’s. The 6030’s were built from about 1971-72
until 1976-77 and as far as I know, the old 6-531 engine
(8.5 liters) is not related to the engine in the 4955. The
6-531 is a close relative of the 6-619 used in the old 8430,
8440, 8450, 8630, 8640 and 8650 tractors. In fact, several
of the old 6030’s have been retrofitted with the 6-619
engine as it is almost a direct bolt-in in tractors that had
the 6-531. If I’m not mistaken, the engine in the 4955 is a
modified version of the 6-466 (7.6 liters) that is in our
4440 tractor and 6620 combine. The 6-466 in my opinion is
one of the best engines Deere ever made. Take care.
