This is the first tractor I ever drove. I was nine years
old, raking hay. It is a ’65 Syncro with probably 25,000
hours and a home-made ROPS. I believe we’ve rebuilt the
motor three times. When we farmed with 8-row, 30-inch
equipment, this was our main planting tractor...and the
Deere 7100 planter we used was integral, not drawn! It did
have a single lift-assist wheel though. We use the tractor
now more for cutting, raking, moving and loading hay, and
running our Arts-Way portable feed mill.
