CNH to be sold?
Hey guys I was reading the forum on a website called and the guys on that site were talking
about the possibility of Fiat selling CNH to some other
company, possibly Agco. Well this is definately the last
thing I want to hear but I was wondering if anyone else
heard anything about it? CNH shares are doing extremely
badly at the moment so you never know but I hope its not
Re: CNH to be sold?
Haven't heard anything. To be honest I dont give a rats ass
either. Dont like there machines much. :-)
Re: CNH to be sold?
CNH is about 3time bigger than AGCO so I don't think that
agco can buy CNH
Re: CNH to be sold?
Damien, I don't think that the government would allow CNH to
be sold to AGCO. Geez AGCO is large enough. If they bought
CNH, Then AGCO would have Case IH, NH, Gleaner, and Massey
combines. Man that's an awful lot of market share of
combines. I've heard that GM has some interest in CNH, and
they have the resources to keep it running. I think that
Case IH would have been better off not even merging w/NH. I
think the companies would have survived better w/o merging.
It will be a sad day when there is only Two major companies
that build farm equipment.:-(

Re: CNH to be sold?
So what's wrong with Agco??!!! And why cant Agco buy CNH. I
think if Agco buy CNH that Agco is falliet over a fewe years
because CNH is maybe to big for Agco. You can see that
example by Allis-Chalmers in 1985. Deutz bougt
Allis-Chalmers but Allis was so much bigger then Deutz that
Deutz must sold Allis becaus Deutz was almost falliet.
Re: CNH to be sold?
Nothing wrong w/AGCO Johan. I just don't think the
governments will allow it. Not good if a company gets "too
big", then it starts to become a monopoly. And that's not
good for business. I think if GM or whoever wants CNH gets
it then there will still be 3 really good companies fighting
for farmers business. Better it be 3 companies than 2, in my
