TasCowboy 349964 48 Shearer 5GP Disc Plough either
Shearer 5GP Disc Plough
Shearer 5GP 18 furrow one way disc plough, Poatina, Tasmania 1999.

I particularly liked the low cloud along the mountains in this shot.

The plough uses a hydraulic stump jump mechanism to jump over obstacles such as stones & stumps, which allows it to be used in rougher conditions (which may not be suited to mouldboard ploughs).

The machine was made in Australia (although to the best of my knowledge, it is no longer produced). A great Aussie invention :-)

Very interesting to see a Shearer 5GP in your country Josey :-)

I knew that some were exported overseas but didnt realise that one ended up in Hungary. They were made in South Australia but they arent built anymore,

Cheers,
