Re: Gleaner bites the dust
And you call this an old Gleaner?? Man how old is it, it wont be 10 years.

Re: Gleaner bites the dust

Re: Gleaner bites the dust
I guess there has been internal damage too?

I bet things are pretty tough with the dry season up your way (tough enough without something like this happening).

Down here in Tassie we are a fair way off harvest (starting in Jan) & some of the vegie growers have started to run out of water already, so their crops wont be much good.

Will you replace the header or switch to using contractors?

Cheers from Tassie,

The Cowboy.

Re: Gleaner bites the dust
Thanks to all for your replies. harvesting very light crops at high speed very dusty conditions dust got into bearing, studs holding the axle in broke. Almost stopped when axle let go, near full box of peas, hit ground hard, bent header front, twisted feeder house and wrecked final drive. A secondhand AFX 8010 coming tomorrow.:-P AGCO machinery getting harder to source parts and service in Australia, our local agent getting out of servicing headers. the old Gleaner was a good machine done alot of work over the years.
Regards from Australia

Re: Gleaner bites the dust
I reckon you will notice the difference with the move up to something like the AFX 8010 Stuart :-)
