Hybrid Canola Seed Crop
Hybrid Canola Seed crop, pre flowering. Perth, Tasmania 2003.

The seed is being grown here, as a multiplication lot for overseas seed companies (I think some may even end up in Canada).

Re: Hybrid Canola Seed Crop
HJ,

Your crop looks quite alot shorter than the crop I took the photos of. The hybrid crops here are sown in mid-late October (mid Spring here) & are usually harvested in February (late summer).

Nice pics :-)

Michiel; European farmers will most likely know this crop as Oilseed Rape.

Re: Hybrid Canola Seed Crop
Ok, fair enough. I find them interesting :-)

Is the hybrid canola grown over there exported or used for seed within the Netherlands?

Re: Hybrid Canola Seed Crop
this is not in the netherlands, you would never find a section machine and such a wide open view in holland :-)

Okay, is it somewhere else in Europe or in the USA or Canada? You have my curiosity aroused ;-)
