FP Code of Conduct

FarmPhoto Code of Conduct

FP is a community. Some people have been here for many years. Treat it like you would any other social group - be polite and respect the culture that exists here. The best way to understand appropriate behavior is to 'lurk' for a while before becoming an active posting member.

All FP members are fluent in agricultural photos. They are not necessarily fluent in English. This is an international site and members are welcome to use any language they feel is appropriate. In general, if you want your comments to be understood by the widest cross-section of members you should use English. If you feel your comments are only relevant to members who speak a certain language you are welcome to use that language. Some users consider it good form to automatically provide an English translation of any post they make. This is certainly helpful but not required.

Do not consider your rate of posting as a competition. Aim for quality, not quantity.

Do not post in the "General" category simply because you think your photo will be seen by more people there. If there is an appropriate topic for your photo, use it.

Post all photos about the same topic in a single thread. Posting multiple photos of the same thing in separate new threads is considered very bad form.

Do not violate anybody's copyright when posting photos here. Doing so invariably causes problems for the site management and may result in your membership being revoked. It is OK to post photos that are not your own only if you have permission to do so from the original owner.

Be conservative in your use of images in your signature file. Do not distract viewers from their main purpose or use your signature in ways other viewers might find annoying or offensive.

In Summary:
    DO NOT
  1. demand other members speak a certain language
  2. use a language in a thread that the original poster will not understand
  3. include oversize or distracting images in your signature
  4. post multiple related photos in separate threads
  5. post multiple pictures of the same subject if each additional image does not add new value to your post
  6. post off-topic photos
  7. respond to another member in a manner you would not use if you were talking to them face-to-face

    DO
  1. provide a translation of your post if you are asked to by another member and you are able
  2. use only text or small images in your signature
  3. be courteous and respectful of other members
  4. provide intelligent and useful feedback to other members
  5. resolve your issues with other members using civil and mature discussion

Hi Nald

I don't know if it's your signature but sometimes I can't see the right part of you posts. Look in the thread: FARMPHOTO, waar gaat dat heen?. On page five. That's where I can't see all of it. I use a resolution of 1027x768
Other than that it is kind of big. Maybe a little smaller would also do it? Together with you avatar sometimes I have to look for your actual writing.

Might be just me, but I always get distracted by the german writing in there. ( Leaders drive Fendt ).

No offense intented.

Martin

I will try to make it a bit smaller.

Re: FP Code of Conduct
I think it would be good to do so Nald. If you are posting or commeting (or someone else not just you) and you see 5 times or more the same (big) picture after eachother it is getting a little annoying.

Re: FP Code of Conduct
Good job, Stu! This will help a lot, but the problem will be that the rules are there, but any newbi will know about them..

Foto's verkleinen is toch simpel...

Ik denk dat aan elk van deze regels al serieus gezondigd is en dat er weinig gaat veranderen.

Eens kijken wat de koejongen hier op gaat zeggen, zal wel zijn van: ok! :-\
