Re: Our Farm
Fill us in Jeremia. It looks very impressive.

Why so many buildings? Are the foreground buildings living quarters? For farm workers? For farmstay tourists?

Re: Our Farm
There are 18 living quarters there for the families workin on the farm, plus we got a 3 huge hog barns, 1 barn for layer hens, grain handleing, machanics shop, carpenter's shop, welding shop, all kinds of things to keep a 9000 acre farm going

Re: Our Farm
Certainly looks impressive, more like a small town :-)

What other enterprises are run on the 9000 acres? I assume grain would play a big part with the large numbers of pigs (hogs) & layer hens you mentioned?

Re: Our Farm
we also got a wooden pallet manufacturing facility, we got a large broiler hen quota, a rendering plant where we process fat for livestock feed. And mostly our crops consist of canola, flax, barley, and wheat.

Re: Our Farm
Looks likes a huderite colony in Alberta. 9000ac is still quit small compared to some farms out there. Then again 9000ac is HUGE compared to farms here in Ontario.

Take care,

Nathan

Re: Our Farm
ya actually there are, there are qiute a few in alberta, sask., and Manitoba, also in north Dakota and south dakota. some of which are much bigger in Alberta, sizing up to 20000 acres, which lots of that is pasture land.but 9000 acres is big for Manitoba

its quite the chore to clean the whole yard in the winter time, takes me about 7 to 9 hours to get it nice and clean.

Re: Our Farm
Would probably be time to start again once you had finished Jeremia :-)?

You obviously run some John Deere equipment; what other sorts of gear do you run there?
