Re: Norwegian farm house
Like most small farms it has sheeps. It is not possible to earn enough to live of it. The owners have always had some extra jobs beside. My grand-grand-father stayed some years in USA to save enough to buy the farm, and he worked in a pack-house in the winter when it was season for herring.
The last year I have not had animals myself, but a neighbor have sheeps here in the summer.
It starts to get a problem that small farms are taken back by nature because it is not economical to run small farms, partly due to taxation and building regulations.

Re: Norwegian farm house
That is a shame, infact sad, when farmers cant make a living off their land & are forced to seek work off the farm & in the worst cases sell their farms & move to the city :-(

Re: Norwegian farm house
It is not many farms for sale. Owners of small farms have always had jobs beside, and if they sell the animals they still live on the farms. Small farms are very popular and usually stay in the family, not many are sold. Farms for sale are usually bigger farms where next generation dont want to take ower. Due to regulations they are sold for quite low prices, about for the same cost as a new house in towns.
