Re: Cattleyards
why do you always take your pictures from so far away?? are you affraid to go near the equipment or buildings, yards your taking pictures off?

and if the haybarn is on the same yard, why don't you put it in this thread, it would give those who are interested in these pics a better understanding of how the yard is set up.

Re: Cattleyards
I wanted to take a shot from a distance, to get the wider angle, showing the yards. I probably could have been a bit closer in hindsight but I only had a basic type of camera I was using, so I had to work within these limitations.

And FYI, NO I am not afraid to get near the subjects I am photographing & NO i dont think I always take pics from so far away (if you checked out some of my other posts you might see this :-[

Re: Cattleyards
didnt meant to offend you...

and i am sorry to say this, but pictures of barns and yards don't really interest me.
And with just one of two overview pictures of the machinery that you do take doesnt really interest me, ii'd like to see more detailed pics of the work being done, close up shots and so on

Re: Cattleyards
No offense taken.

I guess it's each to their own. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

I personally dont get alot out of shots of toy tractors (the recent ones from Michael of Ireland, an exception) & some of these old combines but I guess others do, that's why they post them so that's fair enough, thats what makes FP such a healthy & interesting community to be a part of.

The other thing to remember is that alot of my shots have been taken in the late 1990's / early 2000's before FP & with an older camera.

Having seen how others from around the world do it now, I shall have some pointers for when I get a chance (in the upcoming year) to take some newer shots :-)
