Re: MF 165 fwd
Roadless stuff was great!! Unbelieveable traction for there
time. They would give the modern machines a run for there
money!

Re: MF 165 fwd
This conversion wasn't made by Roadless. It was made by Four
Wheel Traction (4WT) of England. While Roadless had a
contract to made conversions for Ford tractors, 4WT was
allowed to made them based on MF. Owner of the patents for
these conversions was Selene of Italy.

Re: MF 165 fwd
The picture of the frontaxle shows a Selene conversion, only
the picture on top is a 4WT conversion on test drive.

Re: MF 165 fwd
Roadless converted Ford, International and Massey Ferguson
among others. I believe Selene components were used in some
early conversions. I will check the Roadless "bible" tonight
and get back to you. :-)

Re: MF 165 fwd
I own a Massey Ferguson 178 with a Selene conversion. that's
why I'm sure the picture of the front axle is a Selene
conversion. Roadless used the same ex-army axles for some
conversions. For example on the Fordson Major. I had a look
at the Roadless `bible´ and it writes that Roadless made
conversions for Massey Harris half tracks, but not anything
based on Massey Fergusons. They used Fordson, Ford and
International skit units for their tractors. :-)
