My new John Deere 7820. I traded in a 7810 for it in May. Great tractor. I have been pulling a nine shank ripper 18 inches deep with no problems.

Re: jd 7820
Ricky, excellent tractor you have. Great power, I´ve seen one disking on a hill with no lost of power. Here in Costa Rica there are many that are used for tillage for pineapple and sugarcane. The first 7830 tractor arrived last november, we´ll see what happens.
Take care.

Nice tractor Ricky. Whenever you have a chance, can you post some more photos of the tractor in action.

Re: jd 7820
Nice shot and nice tractor Ricky, glad you like it as I've ordered a 7030 myself. :-)

Victor, where abouts in Costa Rica are you located? I've been to San Jose, Drake Bay, Monte Verde and Arenal regions, including having stopped at the JD dealership where some of your shots come from, brings back memories. :-) There were some spots where the farms made me go :-\ but there were also a number of farms, namely on the last leg of the journey from San Jose to the Arenal region, that I can still picture coming around a bend on the highway and seeing the farms laid out in the valleys, truly makes me jealous.

I'm also wondering if you would be able to export some (FrescoNatural) Tropical beverages to Canada for me, as I'm deeply missing a few of them. ;-)

Re: jd 7820
why are there no mirrors????

Re: jd 7820
Mirrors don't come standard. Here in my area more than half don't. I think it is because on a lot of equipment you can see over. In North America they don't use the tractors for transport as much ether.

Today I hooked to the Phillips Rotary Harrow. Had to stop at the fuel tank and fill up.

Re: jd 7820
I used the harrow to dry a field I intend on planting in corn. Last year it was in winter wheat and soybeans, so there is a lot of residue. It was windy today so I ran the harrow in the wet areas to fluff the straw and let the soil dry. I hope it drys enough so I can disk it later in the week. At 43 feet and running 9-10 mph it doesn't take long to cover a lot of ground.

Re: jd 7820
I've never seen one of these rotary harrows before, looks like it'd be pretty effective!

I notice you've got your front fenders on now too. ;)

Great website too. \:D/

I took this picture yesterday while disking ground for corn. The meter just rolled over 400 hours.

Re: jd 7820
I took this shot today. I parked the tractor here a week ago hoping to wash it and vacuum the cab. It has rained everyday since. Mother Nature took care of the wash job for me now it needs cleaning on the inside.:D

Re: jd 7820
Nice tractor Ricky.

So I conclude that you haven't been able to plant any corn yet.

Is this a Case IH disk?

You've got a great website going Ricky. Thanks for sharing all those great photos.

Re: jd 7820
Thanks Tony.

Last week was the first time it was dry enough to do any field work in about a month. Some in the area have started planting corn, but not many.

That is a Case IH disk. It is a 20 foot 496. I bought it at an auction in 2004. It has been a good disk.
