Nice pics JCB :-)

Did you ever have much to do with those Vicon / MF / Greenalnd airseeders & if so, what was your opinion of them? I was just curious, as I have seen alot of pics of them in Power Farming & Farmers Weekly over the years.

Cheers,

The Cowboy ;-)

TC,
The Vicon airseeder was on demo. I did not like it myself, and kept with the Accord. My neighbour uses the MF version of it, and this season their crops are looking very well.

Cheers,

We have used the Accord's here for sowing poppies & have found them to be a good rig. We had to modify the machine & the tynes / sowing feet, as they werent really heavy enough for what we wanted.

You can check some pics out under seeders of the machine that we used.

Re: Early UK spec JD 7600
TC,
The air drill on my self propelled unit, is based on Accord metering, distribution heads, coulters and coulter frame. The main frame and hopper are built by Bateman. I had this machine built using disc type coulters, it runs in heavy trash and sows canola seed at an even shallow depth. When used to plant wheat seed, the seed only hopper, holds almost 2 1/2 tonnes.

Looks like a nice machine JCB,

Does it have the CX disc coulters on it?

I know a guy here with a trailing airseeder (Accord bins & metering units with a locally made frame & front sowing tynes) who has the CX coulters but with presswheels. It is a good drill in the autumn & later during the spring (when conditions are drier) but the presswheels clog up when it is moist.

Yes it is fitted with the CX coulters. It works best on canola, its ok with wheat on the lighter soils, not enough weight on the CX disc's with clay land.
