8970 & 9220
A weather beaten 8970 and a nice 9220 found at a Cat dealer. Poor 8970.

Re: JD 8970 & 9220
Erick,
Very nice picture. A pre-owned JD 9220 would be really cool to own. Do you know how old it is, and how much the CAT dealer is asking? $$ :-) or what hours it has clocked?

Re: 8970 & 9220
Tidy pre-owned JD articulated tractors like the 9220, are very rare in the UK. After the JD 8450, 8650 & 8850 range, JD decided to stop importing articulated tractors for quite a few years. We have some 9000 series tractors here, not very many :-(

Re: 8970 & 9220
Nice photo Erick. JCB3230 look up on tractorhouse.com, they have several listed. You can buy them at a very good price. I saw a 2005 with 471 hours for $135,000 (only about 70,108.53 GBP). Good luck.

Thanks Nothing Runs Like a Deere, tractorhouse.com looks like a site I shall return to, when it comes to looking for a small JD artic.

Re: 8970 & 9220
One other thing, are many of the JD 9000 series sold with linkage and PTO ? Most of the ones I have looked at, have only drawbar.

Re: 8970 & 9220
make sure the tractor is from down south and not to far west to get it with 3 point.

Re: 8970 & 9220

Re: 8970 & 9220
Rony, I have relatives in Calgary, when I get chance to visit them I shall have to take a look at the farming in the area.
I have visited the Seattle and Vancouver regions, although didn't see any farming :-(

Re: 8970 & 9220
JCB3230, you sure have to come to southern alberta some time, it's a very big farming area, u can go up north to the edmonton area for more cattle farms, and u can go east to lethbridge-medicine hat area for the irrigated farming area, with a lot of specialized farming, like beets, potatoes, beans, and a lot more.

Might be very interesting for you.

We live about an hour north-west of lethbridge, town called Vauxhall.

Jdeere: its about 20-25 below overnight, and heats up to around -10 during the day. The winter is been pretty warm compared to previous years, and we didnt get very much snow yet either. Most of the days were even above 0 and couple degrees below overnight, very nice wintermonths so far!!

Re: 8970 & 9220
Rony,
I will get back to Canada again one day. My wife is keen to visit, too.
Her grandfather was Canadian and I also have family in Calgary.

My next visit, I will make time to visit the farming areas. You make it sound very interesting.
It has been a very warm winter here also. The wheat crops are about 6 - 7 weeks ahead of normal.

Re: 8970 & 9220
I found someone who can get me a 9220. One year old and delivered to my door. :-) :-)

So when I am ready for one..... I know who to ask.

Re: 8970 & 9220
JCB, so many choices if you go to Calgary. North to me, south to Rony, and Jdeere tends to aimlessly wander the entire area. :-D

The neighbor has a 9220, seems to be a decent tractor.
