Re: 6420 Autopowr
Nice view indeed. But aren't those ploughs little too big in Johnnie like that? I'm not sure but isn't there 105-110 hp in John Deere 6410 ? Please correct me if i'm wrong! Furrow looks good but how deep you plough? .

Re: 6420 Autopowr
Nice pictures :-)

It is always good to see pics with the gulls following the plough (here it is only crows that follow us when we plough).

What sort of crops (apart from triticale) do you grow on your farm RF?

Re: 6420 Autopowr
Last one.

Ploughing 18cm deep. No need to go deeper.
The 6420 make 110hp, enough for this work. (soil relatively easy to work in my region of France)

Re: 6420 Autopowr
nice pictures :-) here they always use a 6920 with a 5-furrow, you even don't see 4-cylinder JD's here

Re: 6420 Autopowr
Yes , that's true. In Finland we allways use with 5 furrow plows 6 - cylinder tractor. Just like JD 6810 , 6910 , 6920 , TM135 and so. We plow too 18-22 cm deep.

Re: 6420 Autopowr
- With the 7710 -

@ Tom V. : Everybody has a 6920 with 5furrow in Belgium? I don't think so ;-) The 6420 replace a 4055 since this year (less consumption of fuel).

@ Sarge: you're welcome. :-)

@ TC: in my region, we grow corn ( forage / grain), triticale, wheat, barley and colza.

Re: 6420 Autopowr
no not everyone has a 6920 :-P, I just want to say that farmers who drive JD and have a 5-furrow use a 6920 and not a 6420. a 6420 is just powerfull enough to handle a 4-furrow here. we have a 6610 and a Steeno 4-furrow, and sometimes it's stil hard for the tractor

Re: 6420 Autopowr
I think the soil is not so havy weighted at the pictures, if you have weighty soil you won't pull it with a 6420...

Re: 6420 Autopowr
Hey tascowboy, you said you got only crows, you don't have "magpyes" ore how you call these birds with their weard noises? I saw quit a lot in New Zealand, and shoot them also in the vineyard.

Re: 6420 Autopowr
Yes Joep, we have magpies but they dont tend to be around on farms much. Must be a different type of magpie beacuse the one we have here doesnt worry grapes or fruit trees.

They will however dive bomb you if you go near their nests when they have babies :-)

Re: 6420 Autopowr
The colza is what the lexion is harvesting.

@Steven: I never say that we have weighty soil...
