Re: David Brown 1410/1412.
Tim, our 880 isn't that nice to drive anymore:-(, the steering wheel can turn 3/4 without turning the wheels:-\ my grandfather bought it second hand with a front loader but without powersteering, so that puts a lot of stress on the steering mechanism. also the hydraulics aren't what they should be. I hope/plan to rebuild it one time, altough the engine doesn't need much work, still runs like a swiss watch, and smokes less than our 996;-).The 880 has the 4 cilinder engine, I think most have the 3 cilinder in it?

internash : how do you like your 996? what are you gonna use it for?
white and power red or white and chocolat? which type of cab?

Re: David Brown 1410/1412.
:-DFirst hello.

well i have to say iv got a nice welcome thanks.well internash id say we are the biggest DB collectors in Ireland but i dont no about the rest of the world perhaps we are i dont now.

The 1410 at the top is my favorite DB we have it has a totally reconditioned engine and always starts easy without heat ever it is going to be restored we have new thinwork and a cab ect..also tim we have the following implematics 990 red 1965 770 red 1965 900D 1956.850 950 tvo cropmaster 25D 30D.

i will post some pics of the tractors but not all tractors included.

also yes i do have a highway spec 1410 it is believed to be the only one built and is going through restoration i have pics and will post to.

is there any thing i left out? any Question about our tractors just ask. most of the tractors here are ours but does include some customers tractors and friends.:-D

Re: David Brown 1410/1412.
no most have 4cil. they only builded 1 year 3cil, and that was the last year they made them. (implematic) if i can give you a good advise, never buy one with a front loader, nothing but trouble :-P

Re: David Brown 1410/1412.
My grandfather bought it in 1974 or so, it wasn't that rough like now, it was his first tractor then! I wasn't even born back then ;-). They tougth it was very usefull to have a tractor with a loader. But you're correct about the loader tractors, most of the time steering systems suffer from turning on the spot with a ful loader. However the front axle itself has almost no excessive wear. Al the play in the steering is situetet just below the steering wheel itself.

Re: David Brown 1410/1412.
Here is my father on our 850 this tractor was the second DB tractor to come on to the farm it was the first tractor my father ever drove it along with the trusty 950 were traded in against an almost new 1967 1200 which my uncles still use.

any way in 2004 my father found it as it is in the pic and bought it back at last shes home to stay.:-D

Re: David Brown 1410/1412.
Tim, you dont remember the john deere? the (lanz) 710 It is on FP somewere. I like the david brown more, but I will not use it for work until the summer.

Denbute, It is early white/chocolate model, someone has cut-off the windows ect.. from the cab, now it has only safety frame/cage. I Bought it for round bale wrapping. But i think maybey its a little slow (the hydraulics), I wont know until the summer.

Re: David Brown 1410/1412.
hydraulic capacity should be around 28 litres per minute (says owners manuel).Compared to todays tractors it aint much. How much does your bale wrapper need?

edit : can you post some pics of your tractors please?

Re: David Brown 1410/1412.
Hi,

I'm also a very big David Brown fan.
We already had/have a 25D, 880, 996 and a 1594.
Now we still have the 996 and the 1594.
The 996 has around the 20000 hours, hard workhours and still works every day in front off the feedmixer.
The 1594 has 9000 hours and does especially works on small tires.

Keep on posting those good tractors!!
