RandS 374609 13 Maybe we should have a weather catagory either
Maybe we should have a weather catagory
Can't really tell how bad it was from this picture, but visibilty was down to zero meters. I was stranded at the farm all day. This was just over 2 weeks ago. I drove down the driveway and got stuck in a snow drift that was higher than my truck. I couldn't see it.

A view of the day after from my house in town looking across the street. My brother drove the tractor in front of me in my truck to get me home. He had to clear a path.

This snow drift was between my house and my neighbours house. We used the tractor to get through this to get my truck into the garage.

This is part of the clean up. All the snow we've had this year we are running out of places to pile it, so now we have to haul it to the snow dump areas. This storm brought 30cm of snow to us, the wind was 60-80km/h here. Other parts of our province had up to 100km/h. This was the worst blizzard we've had since 1955.

Ya, Russ maybe you sent some of that snow to the east of you maybe to ontario would be nice. Might have got 30cm all winter and most melted in december. Wrong year to buy a sled out here.:-( Thanks nice pics

Re: Maybe we should have a weather catagory
I am from Kansas and flew into Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on Jan 9 for business. I then drove 5 hours north to Sandy Bay. The evening of Jan 10, this storm blew through Saskatoon. Needless to say, I didn't fly out of Saskatoon. I drove another 10 hours sout and east to Winnipeg to catch a flight out. The morning of Jan 11th I was driving to Winninpeg and drove through a little bit of this blizzard. Russ is right, the photo doesn't do the storm justice. It was -30 C and visibility was ZERO. I had to stop the truck several times just because I couldn't see, not to mention all the snow. I have never seen anything like this storm. Not even on news highlights in the States! It was an incredible storm!
