Re: Renault 1151-4
yes, it is, why is it rubbish?
i drive the 951-4 and I have no complies of it, it's a very
good tractor indeed!!!

Re: Renault 1151-4
If I understood it correctly the "Farmer formerly known as
bart" said that I reply all rubbish so I did.Unfortunately I
never got a chance to drive this Renault. It had problems
with the transmission and the spareparts were far to
expensive.

Re: Renault 1151-4
Don't agree with that statement "parts are too expensive",
you can get the parts at a very affordable price, and with
the older renaults there arent many problems sice they are
straight forward tractors, no electronics on them exept for
the radio and lights. they are easy to fix yourself and very
reliable.
We use 2 Renaults here in Canada,a 461 (cabless) and a 751,
never have any problems with them, parts can be a problem
since there are no dealers here, but since my dads cousin is
a dealer we can easily get a part and have it flown over if
its a critical part.

Re: Renault 1151-4
You may be right. But in this special case the parts weren´t
affordable. If I remember right one or more gear wheels broke
apart and they would have costed about 5000$.

To put things straight: it's Grolo who posts the rubbish,
not einascher!

Re: Renault 1151-4
hello, einachser, i said earlyer this forum that i drive a
renault 951-4 and that I haven't any complains of it, but it
isn't exactly true.
last year it was very crowded at our farm, and a boy came
help us, he drove the renault, and I the fendt, he destroyed
the gearshift, so the 951-4 was out of duty for a month, we
ordred a new gearshift and i installed it, but now I have
very much problems with the gearbox. when i want to pull him
in to forward, he work against, and I have to try about tree
times to put him in forward, it is very hard to do that
every time!!
do you have a solution for this problem?
greets from belgium

Re: Renault 1151-4
Sorry cedric, can´t help you. When my uncle
had this renault I didn´t get to drive it(my cousin mostly
used it and I had to stick with the old fendts as I was to
young to do difficult jobs that time).By now there are
hardly any renaults in this area.

Re: Renault 1151-4
Used to drive Renaults for a local contractor and I believe
they are the worst make on the market. I woudnt have one
giftwrapped! The local contactor I spoke of now runs
Fergie's and says it's the best move he ever made.

Re: Renault 1151-4
I don´t have a very good opinion of renaults either but as I
have heard of many Farmers and dealers MFs really suck.

Re: Renault 1151-4
I own a MF 3085 and it's been a very good horse. We own lod
35's and 135's in the past also. MF's have always been good
machines for us.

Re: Renault 1151-4
Maybe the Fergies work better when they can burn british
air:-D
When I was working in a tractor workshop for a few weeks a
farmer who had a MF came by every 2 days because something
was broken. One time the cogwheels in the planetary drives of
the front axle squelched themselves.
Another not very old MF(about 75hp)was standing in the
garage all the time because almost everthing had to be
repaired. Then nobody here wanted to buy it and it had to be
sold to poland.
