John deere MC
John deere MC in our worshop. left clutch unit is rebuild, but i failed with mounting it:-[ The clutch was good, but the brake band wasnt about the clutch unit, so the brake at the left site didnt work fine. This is the second try, now it works realy good. Strange and havy stuff, those tracked tractors.
The fuel tank is at the van Lenthe shop, it was very rusty insite, so it gets a paint insite. it is running on the tank of an 111 garden tractor now:-)

Re: John deere MC

Re: John deere MC
I have a 1953 Model "50" with window wheels. The wheels were discontinued in 54.

There is a John Deere "A" 1940 tore down for restoration behind it. All you can see is the steering wheel. Maybe this year it will be puttin, puttin around. ;-)

How many 2 cylinder JD do you have? Please post more picks of them.

Thanks,
John

Re: John deere MC
I have never seen those window wheels before, must be very rare. In holland there are a few numbered two cilinders, not much, in the late 50's the dollar was too expensive, so the tractors were too.
We have 10 jd two cilinder tractors at the moment
GP, AW, B, BW, G, GW, R, M, MT, MC.
We are building a showroom in our old shed at the moment, When it is finshed i will post photo's of it.
Have you seen our website? here you can see a part of the collection.

Re: John deere MC
Thats way cool! ;-)You have a very envious collection. :-) You don't need many more to round out the letter series. Add a "D" and an "L" and that would do it. Of couse evry variation of each letter.
Do you subscribe to the Green magazine or Two Cylinder Magazine?

The window wheels came out in late 1952 on the first 50's and 60's. They continued on the 1953 models as well. In 1954 when the 70 came out all the number series went with the solid cast wheels. :-(
I was never sure why switched? Maybe they were not heavy enough for the 70. :-\

Thanks,
John

Re: John deere MC
I will try to get somme pics of the rest of my much smaller collection. It has many colors though with a 1938 F-14 Farmall being the oldest. It is one of the last built with an hydraulic lift.
