Re: imt 587
How are you pleased with it?

I heard that over there they broke very often. Is that true?

Oh, and can you PLEASE take some detailed pictures from the inside, because that's an export type cabin you got on it. I wonder how it looks closer, because you cannot get that cabin over here...

Thanks in advance!
Re: imt 587
is the export cab better?
Re: imt 587
Way beter... it is completely lifted from tractor chasis, and has less noise, and is better sealed for dust. Export cab has flat floor, and domestic cab has transmission sticking between legs... In domestic cabs, clutch, and brake pedals go through the floor, and in export cabs pedals are made like in a car... And many more improvements...

Export cab is a IMT drivers dream, but it's hard to get. You need to know somebody at the plant to make a "factory error" and tractor is sold like that for less money, and you buy it, fix it and drive it...

One man over here had such a connection, and got a IMT 565 (65HP) for export market with brakes not working. he replaced the brakes, and tractor looks like new, after years and years of use...

Export tractors are better than domestic in all aspects, but as I said, it's hard to buy it in domestic market...
Re: imt 587
i think it's a bit weird that they don't sell the export cab as an option:-\
but i guess they have there reasons.

the export cab looks good, large windows and small cab styles(the things between the windows that hold the glass on there place)
Re: imt 587
Yes, I have the same principle of cab (big glass, and good visibility, but the noise is intolerrable. I bought a big piece of foam, and cut pieces and stuffed them under the instrument table to reduce the noise. Now it's much better, I can hear the radio now ;-)

But export cab has a lot of advantages over the domestic cab. Why they don't have that as an option, I don't know...

Look at IMT 2000 models and they all have the same cab. Gear shifters are right positioned, handbrake doesn't get in the way any more, you get ventilation and heating as standars, air condition as an option... Adjustable steering wheel and much more things...
