Here is our JD 3040 with Vaderstad roller and a APV spreader in front: The spreader is used to seed catch-crops, here in winter-wheat.

....on the flat end. The advantage of this system is that the wrapped bale are not handled any time between wrapping and use. The wrapper is mounted on a Volvo L30 loader as shown here, or on a CAT TH-62 telehandler.

Here we are harvesting the winter rapeseed. It was a hybride-type and it was our largest yield ever with rape seed, near to 4 tonnes/hectar.:-D

Our Valmet 2005 with a 20 tonne grain trailer (former lorry-tailer).

Tim: The Valmet 2005 is a strong and reliable tractor, not as modern as our new JD, but for its age quite OK. We use it mostly for transports and the second round-baler. Our tractor is from 1988 and has worked +7.000 hours, mainly with muck-spreader and round-baler. The only problem we got is with the PTO, but that is maybe not so strange due to the use.

Re: Farmwork 2006
Our 2 sets of grain trailers, the Valmet 2005 with the 20-tonne trailer and the JD 3040 with an old trailer made from a Scania lorry, capacity 12 tonnes of wheat. In Sweden it is quite common that we use old lorries to make tractor trailers.

We have friends that uses a 13 meter long trailer for hauling wheat. They also have a Valmet 2005 and that is the only tractor that can mange tipping this big types of trailers thus they have a separated oil tank for hydraulics.

Re: Farmwork 2006
Thus the rainy late summer we had to turn the straw several times. Here we use a conventional PZ rake and the JD 3650.

The crop is spring wheat and due to rainfall we stopped harvesting, and when the conditions were Ok agin the crop layed down and was damaged to be used to bread.

Re: Farmwork 2006
Here we are baling straw for our own use. We use app. 700 bales of straw and 500 bales of silage for our Charolais cow heard. Due to easy handling when the straw is stored and handled we only make the bales diameter 1.5 meter.

Re: Farmwork 2006
Thank you for the warm and welcoming words from all of you!

Einachser: catch crop is for example rye-grass seed into ordinary grain crop. The purpose is to catch nitrogen after the ordinary crop has been harvested. Otherwise the nitrogen will leave the soil with the drainage to the ocean with all the problems connected to nitrogen leackage.
Then we wait with the cultivation/plouging until late autuum or even to the spring if it is a light soil. In Sweden we got subsidies from the authorities for this, app. €100 for the catch crop, and extra €45 if we wait with soil work until spring.

This is our JD 6920S with flatbed trailer loaded with straw bales.
These bales comes from the farm were i live and shall be transported to our other farm (my wifes birth place) were the cows are - 38 km away. Thus we put some efforts to tie the bales with span straps.Totally 30 bales, app. 290 kg/each.
