A set of grain barges headed up river at The Dalles, Oregon.
High in the water, these empties are going after more wheat to be
brought to the lower Columbia River export terminals. ;-)

A few days later, on a not so nice a day as seen above, a very
similar set of barges headed back down the river. :-D Quite a difference in the draft now. ;-) These shots were taken from the
barge loading terminal where we have been delivering wheat this
winter out of farm storeage. Each one of these 4 barges holds
in excess of 100,000 bu. :-P

Great pics John :-) I wasnt aware that grain was shifted like this (thought it would be cheaper / quicker by road or rail)?
