Re: The David Brown 12 & 14 series.
I must say I become nostalgic. The tractor above is the DB 1212 which came to our farm 1973. After the MF 35 this was the tractor in which I learned how to drive.
In Sweden we at first got this red Klippan cabs. Then there was some years with a white one, but not the same as anyone seen on your pictures, then 1977 we got the Secura cab shown in your ´second picture.
If it has not been such a bad seller of DB in our region we surely had changed to DB 1412 in 1977, but we choose JD 3130 (and we have been pleased to JD to as you maybe have seen in my other posts).

Re: The David Brown 12 & 14 series.
Hello Lennard & Edwin.

Lennard do you still have your 1212 id say when you first drove it your impresion was very nice.

The Hydra Shift gearbox is a wonderfull piece of engineering.

Edwin my 1410 Highway is so far believed to be the only 1410 done out in highway spec.:-D:-D

Re: The David Brown 12 & 14 series.
Hello - no, we don't have the DB 1212 - it was traded against the JD 3130 in 1977.
We got some problems with the Hydra shift caused by dirty hydraulic couplings - suddenly it shifted 1-2-1-2 instead of 1-2-3-4. The repair wasn't cheap!:-(
But otherwise it was a good and handy tractor!:-)
On an auction this spring there will be a DB 1212 from 1971 acc. to the spec. Is this right - where there made any 1212 in 1971?

Yes lennard the 1212 and 1210 started production in late 1971 my 1210 is the 823 one built and was built in the first month of production.

are you going to buy a 1212.:-D

Re: The David Brown 12 & 14 series.
I am looking for an old tractor just for fun, and I would prefer one of a type that had been on our farm. Mostly I want a MF 35, but others can be considerd, for example a DB 1212!

Re: The David Brown 12 & 14 series.
Go for a DB 1212 because there a scarce tractor and very nice looking machine also it would be a good stand buy tractor on your farm in case some thing hapend to your deere.:-D

Re: The David Brown 12 & 14 series.
You've got big confidence in the work ability of a DB! I don't think that the 1212 will manage to lift/drive any of our current machinery, maybe the sprayer!
Look at my tread about Farmwork 2006 and you can find facts about my farm today
