Re: Swedish tractors from the 80´s
The first tractor was home built by a Swedish farmer, it was even his third generation. They were equipped with Scania diesels and full hydrostatic drive. They were also bidirectional and used one ordinary plough and opne reversed plough to get the possibility to plough reversible without turning the tractor.

PS: Nice pics of intresting Swedish tractors.

Lennart, I didn´t know that, I remember that it was very big and not very useful in other working areas then ploughing. Swedtrac though is a very fine machine.

Re: Swedish tractors from the 80´s
The tractors were build by Staffan Söderberg, Hölö in Sörmland.

The Swedtrac was built in a small serie in Arvika. The first one used Ursus rear ends and cab, later the built their own cab. They always built their own hydraulics based om Bosch eqipment. Normally they got app. 160 hp, but some got over 200!

Re: Swedish tractors from the 80´s
Interesting photo's! There used to be a company in England called Bray that made a tractor (Bray Centaur) that had a plough up front and back like that one. Saves turning around at the end. Only I asume on this one that the seat turnes round, on the Bray you had to look over your shoulder backing up the furrow!

Re: Swedish tractors from the 80´s
I found this picture on a free to publish site on the Internet showing the same tractor as in the first photo. The tractor got a Scania 14 litre V8, app. 500 hp. As you can see it also has adjustable tire pressure. This picture is taken just a few years ago, and the tractor is still going strong. This is number 3 of Staffans homebuilt tractors.

I did forget this one. The Parca 714 from the early 60's It as powered with a 6 cyl Scania engine and maybe about 155 hp and 4wd...... In 1969 Volvo BM bought the company.
