IHC 160 Pull Type
A 160 hillside pull type combine built by International
Harvester, cutting club wheat near The Dalles Oregon in
1975. The tractor is a "7U" D-4 Caterpiller. The 160
had a self leveling cleaning shoe gear leveling on the
left side tire. The header on this machine is 16 feet.

Re: IHC 160 Pull Type
John, great pic. My dad had a 51, which he ran in N. Idaho.
It looked the same from the front. He loved that combine
especially the levelling shoe and it would hold the steepest
hills when the tractor was sliding sideways on the steep
north side hill. Later he put an automatic leveller on it
and electric header lift. He could run everything from the
tractor seat. He used a TD 40 or TD 14 to pull it and used
it up to the 70's as a second combine. Like all pull types,
the header had to be taken off to move which was somewhat of
a job, but hooked to the back of the truck was quickly
moved up the road.
