Re: HP??
I think they measure the HP at the PTO in China and those countries around there. Just like in America.

7720 152 PTO hp
7820 165 PTO hp
7920 180 PTO hp

Re: HP??

Re: HP??
redmetal, these are the wrong numbers ,in one way its right do.
the Nebraska-test says:@ 2100 rpm 155 pto HP
but:@ 1950 engine rpm 170 HP wich is
@ 1000 pto rpm
and @ 1850 eng.rpm is even 175 HP almost. this is called a constant power engine.
all new diesel perform this way,as soon rpm drops they gain HP.
PS.the EU-version from this model has the 6.8lt.while the US-version has the 8.1lt.engine.

Re: HP??
Rony,

Ook niet veel op de harde weg geweest? Taiwan is NIET China. Als je ruzie met een Taiwanees wilt hebben moet je tegen deze zeggen dat hij in China woont.

Re: HP??
Good Lord, who'd have thought people would have made things so much more complicated than needed?

Rony, wrong:

PTO-Hp
7720 - 140
7820 - 155
7920 - 170

[Rated] Engine(Gross) Hp
7720 - 170
7820 - 185
7920 - 200

Then of course there's max power, max tranport power, etc etc. Don't over-complicate things.

Re: HP??
ever worked with a tractor with only a engine? the engine got 185 hp, but that doesn't count, the question is how many hp's the tractor has got. You only need to know the hp's that are available for doing its work.
In my opinion, there is a real gap between 155 and 185 hp, so i want to know what's the difference between those measures?

Re: HP??
The 185 HP is measured on the crank of the motor without any other part of the tractor attached. The 155 HP is measured at the PTO so all the transmission losses are taken off the original 185. Some tractors have small gaps some have large gaps. IE: 2003 Valtra T170 has just a 15 HP gap (155-170) an Case IH MX180 has a 35 HP gap (145-180). I just picked these models since those are all roughly in the same HP class. In the higher HP ranges the gaps become bigger yet.
