JH, when i see ur posting histories, i see u have had a lot of Ford/Newhollands. But witch are the best ( less problems with ) ?
How good where the powershift on that 8730 and 70serie? I read differend thinks about it.

Re: Ford 8730

Re: Ford 8730
Hi.

Have to say, that I dont know the whole story of this 8730. But a friend of mine have a 89 Ford 8630, with only 3100 hours on the clock, and its a beaty.
The powershift tranny in these tractors are made by Funk(owned by John Deere), same story with the 70´series. This 18/9 ps is working a lot smoother in the 8670 I once got than it does in the 8630. Dont think this traany will take the same kind of abuse as the old 16/4 crashbox did in the TW´s and in the 30´series with this gearbox.

Re: Ford 8730
it isn't that much of a " crashbox " you know .
if you've got the proper technique shifting gears with the TW is easily ;-)

cheers,

Roel.
