Re: john deere, claas and clays

I think Claas are the major seller throughout Europe Tom ;-)

Re: john deere, claas and clays
Claas is also much better in combines then JD. JD cost a lot more in maintenance. And Claas can do more acres a day. And this is said by someone that has JD tractors and used to have only JD combines as well.

Yes Schizo, the Lexion's do see to be popular, especially in the UK (I have seen alot of them in the Farmers Weekly magazine especially)

Re: john deere, claas and clays
jd cost less in maintenance. there is no daily service needed, filters and oil, jd is the chaepest in whole the market with that. an lexion 600 does about the same arces like an jd STS. Only an axial flow will beat an sts. lexion combines are good, the shaker ones, not the rotors. In this erea there are 11 jd CTS combines at the moment, all very satisfied owners, there are only 2 lexion's and one nh cx in my area. the claas lexions are leased, for over more years, when that lease contract end, there will come jd combines, a contract for one combine ended last year, a jd CTS is in place of that wright now.

Re: john deere, claas and clays
Yes well that's your opinion. I heard that contractor. Fewer maintenance and more acres. And we saw the proove of the more acres too. And with JD you got to revise the rotor every three years. With claas every 5. With JD you got more pieces and they cost the double then with claas... Well that's what he said. And I don't think he would lie about it. And my dad knows the guy very well that works for cofabel for selling the combines and choppers. And he said to my dad that NH and Claas have better combines and that Claas has better choppers then JD. Of course he won't say that to a customer... And our JD dealer also says that the German combines are better then the american ones. Don't know about that

Re: john deere, claas and clays
In europe there are only european zweibrucken build jd combines. so i dont know about that dealer of you, and that cofabel of you. in this erea there has never been revised one rotor, no one of the 11, and the oldest are from 1999. You have to grease the bearings in the front of the rotor very good, if you dont do that you have to replace the bearing by 10 years. What type of claas do you compare with what type of john deere? In holland there is no combine that will beat our CTS.
What products are you talking about, Maiz? or grain. Ever worked with a modern combine?
The company i was talking about had 3 lexions.

Re: john deere, claas and clays
grain... and with revising the rotor I mean de metal liners (dorslatten)
And I compare a Claas dominator or lexion with a JD of that same age (I don't know the types :^))
Well you can say what you want, but I saw what I saw:-P And if you lease combines, then you can lease what you want. You take no risk cause they aren't even really yours. And maybe jd makes better deals for leasing then Claas.
And yes, they said the Zweibrücken produced combines are better then the USA built ones. Germans tend to built things smarter and more practiqual then americans.

Re: john deere, claas and clays
The combine on the picture is an jd 2054 from 1992, this one is 15 years old, i dont know what they are doeing, but it could be replace the rasp bars. although i thing they replace the concave, because this combine saw a lot of grasseed in his life, wett grasseed is very bad for your concave. jd 1075 and 1085 are good combines, after that models it wont get better for a wile, the walker combines from now are not that good as the claas. john deere got different models of combines, and an walker 5 combine wont do the same arces as an walker 6. the experience in this area is that an lexion 580 wont do the same arces as an jd cts from 2001 (330hp) later cts models got 350 or 375 hp.
That lease contract was for over several years, and that jd is bought by that company i thought:-[
