Looks good Reidy NZ.

How many hours does it have on it & what sort of work do you do with it?

Cheers,

Re: 4040
10500 hrs on clock but estimated over 15000 as clock has only recorded approx 2/3 the hrs worked since I have owned it - purchased about 10 yr ago with 4600 hrs. Does mostly secondary cultivation & seed drilling now - used to be my main tractor towing Strautman Loader wagon / round balers & a lot of discing/harrowing

Re: 4040
4WD wannabe - these front wheels have only just been fitted to aid steering and floatation ( they came cheap off an orchard tractor ) - this old girl has only ever been stuck due to front end disapearing in peat - steering untill now has been mostly aided by brakes !
Front weights are yet to be painted (& toolbox) and installed & cab interior to be refurbished. I added the "tall" stainless air intake as I found with the precleaner at its original hight it sucked too much dust etc off the bonnett

Re: 4040
it looks like new now.
I like the front wheels
The only thing is that stainless steal percleaner when the sun hits it i will blind you because we had one on our MF3085 but had to take it off.:-D

Re: 4040
Ok, thanks.

I quite like the look of those front tyres. I reckon it would make a great drilling / sowing tractor.

What sort of drill do you normally use on it?

Re: 4040
Very nice pictures! We run a 4230 which is quiet similar.
Our old lady is getting a little bit older now, and probably needs a makeover in the coming years. Still a nice strong tractor

Re: 4040
nice clean tractor, but I do no understand why you need front tires with cleats.? do regular tires not work just as well,I am thinking when you come to the end of the field and turn these tires will distrub the soil. Please explain this

Re: 4040
Reidy NZ,real good looking unit.
Roy,i think in NZ it will help in wet conditions and in hilly fields they provide to keep trak.
like he said,he got them cheap from another tractor and in NZ things are a lot more expensive than in the US. :-\
