Re: Grass harvest
The rake is a Taarup (Kverneland) 4 rotor rake with maximum working width of 15 meters!

The mow the grass with a Taarup 9 meter butterfly mower using wide spreading.

Here one of two silage trailers, it's a Metsjö Meta Q95 - 4 axles max load 29 tonnes - bin volume 66 cu meters - It is the biggest silage trailer I know of. It is towed by a Case Magnum MX 270. The other trailer is towed by a Fendt 930.

Re: Grass harvest
Wapno is for the moment the biggest milk cow herd in Sweden. They have a milking carousel with 60 places and their own diary.

If you talk about acerage there is some old large estates with over 1.000 hectars in Sweden like Wapno. Today we see more and more big farms growing throug joining of 2 ore more farms or by leasing land. But still the average farm is under 100 hectars!

Re: Grass harvest
Thanks for the info Lennart.

I guess it has been the same in many places. Smaller farmers can no longer make a living from their farms, so they sell out. What was 2-3 smaller properties becomes one larger farm.

The saying that was popular was get bigger or get out, or words to those effects.

A sad but true fact in today's tough agricultural climate.
