Is this cereal rye Phil? Has it been cut with a swather or large mower conditioner? Why use the windrow merger instead of a rake?

yes that is ceral rye cut with 15' mower we use a merger because of all the stones a rake gathers also less ash (dirt)content than with a rake

We were custom chopping it for a dairy farmer He lets it get real mature to put in the dry cow and heifer rations
