Great photos Andy, very well done :-)

What type of front do you harvest your peas with? It must be interesting, in this sort of undulating country?

Regards,

TC ;-)

Re: steep country from down under!
@TC
we harvest these with plucker specially built for harvesting peas. we have tried with an ordinary front but not suitable on the slopes. The plucker can pick them up clean from up to 20-30 cm above the ground.

Re: steep country from down under!
Ok, thanks for that. I thought you might have some trouble with a normal header front, in that undulating country ;-)

Looks like you have lots of stones there!

@ReidyNZ
this like i said is only about average for the farm there are places where the tool box,esky,waterbottle etc slide from one side to the other. Its been too wet to get to those areas will post more when it dries out. I know NZ is steep!
@Bates
yes we have plenty of stones.....my next job it to pick them all off the cropping land

Great looking country Andy D. :-) What do you use Kaspa Peas
for?? Forage or cover crop or what??

A shot of one of our nastier spots.....right out along US 197 so not
a good place for any screw ups......;-)

Nice scenerys - here we talks hilly fields. I don't want to make round bales there, we have some nasty hills to at both our own and at our customers, and if you don't think when opening the round baler the bale rolls off..... we have fetched bales in both creeks, forrests and one time on the road!:-[

A look across the wheat on the SRS Ranch home place just east of
The Dalles, Oregon. Most of our steepest ground is in close to The
Dalles. The difference in color in this winter wheat is betwwen varieties,
one is Tubbs & the other is Stephens, both soft white wheats.
Mt Hood looks on from the west. ;-)

A look back from the same ridge seen in the picture above....when
I took the one with Mt Hood in the background, i was standing in the
wheat seen here in the upper right of this frame. Here the 8010 is
working in "the cove"......going down on the left side where the
steepest (40% plus) ground is.....and coming back heavy on the
right side where it is not quite as bad. ;-)

Not a very good shot....I was waiting to shoot some of the planes
spraying on our wheat.....but this shot of our neighbor spraying with
his ground rig does give a pretty good idea of the lay of the land. ;-D
