Re: sugar beets
Nice photos Koos :-)

Must be a pretty big field to warrant 3 tractors of this size?

Cheers from Australia,

TasCowboy ;-)

45 cm?? We use 50cm rows so that 3 50cm rows are 1.50 which fits to the tractor. I guess you put 4 rows in between the tractor then on 1.80 tracks?

Re: sugar beets
Thank you all for the nice comments.
We are on 22" row spacing (55 cm) and run 4 rows under the tractor.
Most of the beets in Southern Alberta are on 22". There are still a few growers on 24" as that was more popular back in the mid 70's because then they did not have the skinny tall tires available.
We also run the greenstar GPS with the Universal Autosteer.

Re: sugar beets
not a lot of beets on 30" rows there then.
Around here (south western Ontario) the majority is on 30" row spacing, as well as the states.
Few guys are on 22" rows, and some as wel as ourselves are on 20" rows.

I see that your receivers are equiped with RTK-antennas.
Is the Greenstar Universal AutoTrac accurate enough to work with such a precise signal as RTK?

We started using RTK on a John Deere sprayer in 2005
In 2006 we started using the RTK on the row crop tractors. We were running John Deere tractors 4755, 4760 and 7810
so we had to use the Universal Autosteer to make them work on these tractors, and are very happy with the results on the row crop.
Last winter we bought some new tractors and as you can see they are not J.D. and also our tillage tractors are different makes, Cat, Case and New Holland.
Now we can use our Universal Autosteer on all the tractors at different time of the year and this fall we are also planning to run them on our Case combines.
