Re: John Deere 6300
what problems are there with the PowrQuad?? doesn't it work or make it a special noise from broken bearings or something??

Re: John Deere 6300
This was a comon problem in Norway, before they mowed the gearbox breather. Because of all the snow who piled up at the rearend, espesaly when driving with snow blowers.

Re: John Deere 6300
Same as we had:-\ the thing they put on the plates comes of due to multiple use and gets stuck in the filter.:-\
No special noise Tom. Ours could even pull a cultivator without slowing down... We thought it were the brakes again when we changed the oil... but the brakes were fairly ok...
Ours did about 5500 hours though
Edit: we changed the gearbox breather too some years ahead. and now even with the new powerquad the pieces in the filter kept coming.

Re: John Deere 6300
actually it's not a powrquad problem but a problem with the permaclutch, or am i wrong?

Re: John Deere 6300
You could also get water in the oil if the inner oil drainage hose, from the spool valves are broken or not connected:-(

Re: John Deere 6300
In this case it was the 4 powershift gears who was most worn.

Re: John Deere 6300
With us it was the powerquad. But the permaclutch of forward was also pretty much gone.
1st gear completely blank
2th gear too
3th gear too
4th gear was intact as this is a direct connection who doesn't go into the "bowl" with the planetairy axles.
Permaclutch is just the reverseclutch.

Re: John Deere 6300
Those arent normal problems, if you have troubles with a powrquad or engine of an 6000 serie, most of the time it is your own fault. The first 6000 serie tractors heading to 20000 hours without any trouble with powrquad or engine

That is something you can say for every tractor then...

Re: John Deere 6300
Guys, JOHN DEERE SUCKS... and Robin, how can you say that, its your own fault... I guess you must be from Holland, am I right? In holland this would never happen... The only nice thing about John Deere is their color, for the rest it stinks! You can compare it with a dutch cheese... looks nice but stinks awfull. Look man, you just got to have a factor of luck when buying a JD, but in most cases you are tricked. If you buy a FIAT you have the same problem...

Better a Fendt, but I guess this is too expensive for "some" people. Ciao

Re: John Deere 6300
Some people are colour blind Robin, so I wouldnt worry too much. Every brand can have a "lemon", so to speak, including Fendt's....

Re: John Deere 6300
Indeed, having a lemon isn't fun. especially not when it's an expensive lemon

Re: John Deere 6300
colorblind... not really. And I am neither 13 Cheeseman.... I rather expected you to be 13 or less... even that you are speaking English surprises me.
Well, I hope you never get your "lemon"; but surely it will arrive soon when continuing driving John Deere.

Yes that is true:-[

Our jd dealer sold a lot of 6000 series, must be over 500, no one of them got powrquad problems, and only 3 of them got engine problems. writing 'most of the time it is your own fault' was wrong, could be a factory mistake too, but you'll be the first on 500!
Each day deere is producing 200+ powrquad tractors at their Mannheim and waterloo factory....since 1992
You won't become world market leader if your producs suck

JDSUCKS, could you tell us a bit more about your background? why do you think john deere sucks? is it because 3 jd6920 tractors which you handled with care, and now don't deliver their hp's and consuming a lot of fuel?
