Hello Victor,

How do they actually plant the pineapples? Is it a bit like a banana plant?

Regards,

TasCowboy :-)

Re: Implements for pineapple seedbed preparation
Ok thanks JD.

I was wondering whether they grew it from a transplant, or a tuber or a sucker, like a banana. I am guessing that they dont grow it from a seed.

Re: Implements for pineapple seedbed preparation
TasCowboy, the pineapples are planted by transplanting a "crown" they develop when the fruit is ready for being collected. That crown is called seed and appears in the upper part of the fruit. You have to make a bed and then plant the crown. Planting bananas is different than planting pineapple.

Marco, thank you very much.

Nils, One of my goals in life is becoming a tillage contractor (of course the tractors are going to be JD´s) but you need money for that. Right now I can´t afford buying a real tractor. I have like a 100 JD´s but scale tractors.

Thank you guys for your comments.
