our bull
"Rudaks", about 1300kg worth of MRY bull. He's a bit tamer than he looks, will eat out of my hand if he feels like it.
He's very good at keeping strangers off our land though, a few months ago he gave a pair of guys a good scare when they tried to collect some soil samples unannounced :-P

Re: our bull
It looks like a Red Holstein to me TC.

Mad Marky I hope sell this bull before he gets too big. I heard of too many farmers that got killed by dairy bulls.

You should consider going 100% artificial insemination.

Re: our bull
Sorry it's called MRIJ, a traditional Dutch breed. A bit less milk than HF but more meat and a bit more sturdy.
We had artificial insemination for a while in the past, but its expensive and more of a hassle. Rudaks manages the herd automatically.

And don't worry about any serious injuries caused by this kind of bull. Of course you always need to be a bit wary if you are walking in the herd, but he knows who the boss is. We've had quite a number of bulls over the years but i can't remember of any serious trouble with them.
