Re: Fen Peas
Shall be interesting to see how it goes & to see how it performs against the PMC's too.

Looks like the sun has finally decided to show up for you too ;-)

Re: Fen Peas
Manky you might need a bigger tractor to pull that one out if it gets stuck like the others keep the camera at the ready just in case not wishing any bad luck:-)

Re: Fen Peas
The PMC's ARE Ploeger machines ;-).
And their smaller EPD machines can't meet the bigger 979's.

Re: Fen Peas
I would have thought the 979's would walk all over everything else, performance wise, hands down.

Re: Fen Peas
Tas, I can assure you a PMC is no match for a Ploeger, performance wise, and reliability, and of course in the wet, which is pretty important for those guys over there at the moment. From what I have heard the BCMH is a pretty good machine, time will tell I guess.

GC
Not so sure about that, Ploeger are slower and make a rougher sample, but are apparently nicer to drive, some you win some you lose:-)

BCMH had a bad night last night, we have a French mechanic with us till Tuesday, he will go home tired:-D:-D

Re: Fen Peas
Ok GC, that is interesting.

I would have thought that the 979 was a bigger capacity machine & would operate faster than the Ploeger, from what I have been told.

Bad luck with the broken arm Manky, how did you break it?

6920pilot, what were the problems with the BCMH?

Regards,

TC :-)

Re: Fen Peas
6920, Ploeger sell many more machines and also took over FMC, someone must be doing something right ?? I also took a Ploeger to harvest against a 6 wheeler here in NZ and totally blew it away in all aspects. All the red boys were converted in 3 days and did not want us to leave.

Whats up with the BCMH ? Whats the capacity like ?

Re: Fen Peas
Tas, dont believe everything you hear, you need to see them in the same paddock side by side for a few days. But I guess everyone has their ideas, its a bit like the Holden v Ford debate Tas

Re: Fen Peas
Not really had a chance to test the capacity as the machine has been stop start for various reasons, crops we were in last night were on virgin pea land and had produced lots of straw which created problems for all of us to be honest. French mechanic is with us till Tuesday should have probs ironed out by then:-\
P.S. GC did you get my email, hope it was of some use:-)

Re: Fen Peas
Cheers for your thoughts GC, Yes you are right, everyone has their opinion & their bias towards certain machines. You can only judge from what you have seen in the field & from what you have said the Ploeger kicked the 979's butt.

Anyways, thanks for the info & opinions, much appreciated,

Regards,

TC.

Here in Tassie pea season runs from late November / Early December through to mid February, most seasons.

Re: Fen Peas
ploeger will never be a match for a pmc/fmc, wheve got these two brands of harvesters running but a ploeger can never compete with a pmc ,always slower, more pea damage and if you are really pushing the ploeger you get lots of drum-blocks it just cannot compete with the pmc. here is a video i made last year of the bcmh against a pmc
