Re: Still Sticky
Still pretty dry GC, even though we have had about 20 mm for the month so far. Looking bleak for the spring unless we get serious rains soon.

In all fairness, I think the lads in the UK have had it pretty wet in their pea fields but maybe the 979's are a bit heavy for the wet fields?

Cheers,

TC :-)

Re: Still Sticky
Hope you get some rain soon Tas. Pretty wet here in NZ. I think those 979's might need to be put on weight watchers !!!!

Me too GC. Maybe will get some of that pattern they have been getting in the UK? I hope so, anyway.

Re: Still Sticky
Fiitter had to be towed into the field then back out but the Land Rover got stuck too. Have been telling him to get a 4X4 put still turns up with the 2X4.

The group we are with is purple group , or Humber Pea Growers as it was called last year.

Re: Still Sticky
Looks like some of these farmers will have their work cut out for them, trying to get these fields back into shape, after such a wet harvest.

I for one, wouldnt like to be the first man in with the discs or plough, to try & tidy this mess up :-P

Re: Still Sticky
Hi GC ,the 979 CT was new last season, it is doing better than the older machines in the mud , it is always first into the field and usely first to find the wettest patch. Had more rain today , left the field tonight and one viner was bunged front to back with mud and vine !
