Re: 10 wheel milk truck
Do they use this with a dog trailer set up Roy or just the truck, when collecting milk from farms?

Re: 10 wheel milk truck
Manel, sometimes a trailer that is towed behind a truck like this is called a dog trailer, pig trailer or pup trailer. I will see if I can find you a pic on the net, for illustration purposes ;-)

Re: 10 wheel milk truck
This is a pic from the net that I found, to show Manel what a "dog trailer" is. This is what they call a "super dog", made of aluminium & very good for carting grain.

I have seen tankers (to cart fuel & milk) with the same axle configuration as this one in use here, behind trucks like the one Roy posted the pic from.

Cheers,

TC ;-)

Re: 10 wheel milk truck
Several years ago they would pull pup's behind these trucks, but what we call a pup has no steerable axle they are 2 axles several feet apart and a long tounge and when they turn short turns they just scoot on the ground , so the milk industry now uses these bob trucks and some have 3 sets of tandem duals and then some use 3 sets of tandem dual and a pony axle in front of thes with a large tanker on it,, and now you see probably more semi's hauling milk than these other trucks. or at least here in the Ozarks
