Re: fendt 818 crash
A cab should never fold like this, in any rollover accident.

Like M@Nel I wonder if the driver made it out alive.

I guess Fendt should expect a nice lawsuit.

Re: fendt 818 crash
i agree the cab shouldn't fold up like that unless its gone down a bank but it does seem to be excessivly damaged the answer is don't drive with your loader up it sould be as close to the ground as is safe so as to lower your centre of gravity

Re: fendt 818 crash
I do think fendt tractors are realy good, but they have to develop a new, better cab, because all fendt tractor i have seen look like this after a rollover:-\

Re: fendt 818 crash
They do get their cabs true all safety tests... I think much is blamed to high speed rollover... A fast, hard knock gets a lot of bending done. Even the loader looks heavily bended :-\

Re: fendt 818 crash
You may think it's bullshit. Can you drive guarantee safe in a car at 200 km/hour? I have seen a flat JD once at a dealer. Also high speed rollover. Even the loader bends. And it takes a lot of force to bend a loader:-\ And I still don't know a kab that has a thicker frame then that of a loader.

Re: fendt 818 crash
Maybe it should be a good thing to buy a Agrotron cab! Fendt's are great tractors but the cab design is almost twenty years old. And some details of this cab design are almost thirtyfive years old. The Europe union must improve the safety lawes for cab safety proofs. Tractors go faster and they are high and heavy, so they are not very good at high speeds. They must improve the safety lawes, or people will die. It is also a fact, that when you have a good cab you must keep it a good cab, no rust, and check the bolts of the cab, a lot of tractors have rusty cab bolts, and rust on the cab itself. A good cab must stay a good cab!

Fellow farmers, greetings from the Netherlands!

If the loader wasn't on a high postion, the driver would have died. I agree the loader must be as close to the ground if possible. All tractors have a high centre of gravity, and that's the reason that it is dangerous to drive fast with a tractor. Better safety laws, so tractor company's must make stronger cabs.

But in this case, the postion of the loader is the reason the driver still lifs!
