Re: CX740
That haed IS VERY small for that combine, and very old........because when the farm bought te new combine didn't bought also the new head, because there's no need!
That head become from the old combine of that farm, a New Holland 8070.
Anyway, here in Italy we put on combines that could supporte heads of 10-12 meters heads of 9.50 meters.
And on combines that could supporte heads of 6-7- meters, we put on heads of 4-5 meters.

Re: CX740
Which is the width of this head? 4.20m?
In italia which is the width permitted for the head be able to walk installed in the combines?

Re: CX740
Mh......i say you what the law says!
In Italy you can run for the streets whith a head installed on the combine only if the head(close or not)isn't more large than the front width of the combine.
If is more long, (for the grain heads) you must haule it with a tow.
The same for corn head, but in the area where i live there aren't farms that use corn heads more long than 6.50 meters, so no one here has corn heads that can't be closed!
And, if you have a very big combine, you can't run for the streets without special services offered from the Region, or the Province where the combine has to run, but also only if you haven't a head more large than the front of the combine, and that is imbossible if we're talking about big combines!!!!
And About heads that are large as the front combine..............the corn heads must have the points closed, and the grain heads must have the 2 extremes points closed too.
This is what law says in general, but there are many ohter small laws, anyway here in the streets where there isn't traffic some farmers drive the combines with open large heads, but only if there isn't traffic.

Sorry for the bad englishhhhhhhhhh:-[!

Re: CX740
I thank for you will answer. In Portugal also is like this and has that be removed a license for the combines to be able to walk in the road even without the head. I with mine combines also alone shot the head of the cereal to of the corn as is of the same width of the combines not to shot.
