side of 18th century barn
This is a BArn on my property that isnt being used. I
believe its a late 18th century barn, i say this because the
house i live in was built in 1717. I am interested to know
if anyone could help me find out more about my barn before
it falls down. You can reply or email me. I have about ten
other pictures of the outside and inside......PLEASE HELP!
Thank you

Well it is located in upstate NY columbia county, just
outside the city of hudson, town of greenport. Heres
another picture. The outsdie does look good(in most spots)
but the inside is a different story. But your right for its
age it does look good.

Do you have plans to restore the barn? I am not sure where
to find them ,but in past they have been people, groups,
etc. with grants to help restore these building, IT might be
worth a try.

Re: side of 18th century barn
well i dont know at this point in time. The barn has a bit
of lovcal history attached to it. There was a famous murder
of a local icon in 1901. My property at that time was part
of the very large hollanbeck farm. Christmas eve 1901
hollenbecks nephews tied there horses to the barn(the ring
is still there) and went up to his house and murdered him.
So local historians might put up a fuss, or on the other
hand they might encourage it. To me i have no use for it,
but it does make a good conversation piece.
