Re: Nurseries
Irrigating in the middle of the day with a temperature in the high 90's, not to effective if you ask me.

Tony, beautiful flowers what a nice view. I work in a fern farm that´s kind of a nursery. Are those flowers for export?

Last photo.

Victor,

as far as I know most of the production is sold to the North American market.

TC the ornemental plant production covers about 11,000 acres in our county.

Re: Nurseries
Good pictures Tony. :-)
In 1992 I was in the South of Florida. And I saw a lot of plantations of oranges and sugarcane. Due to the climate this area does stand out in these cultivations?

Regards.

Re: Nurseries
Luciano,

Agriculture is a very important sector of activity for our state, second only to tourism.

A lot of farmers have to compete with imported products and other factors and one other one beeing house developments. See photo above of a mansion with a lot size of about 5 acres. I guess not much different that a lot of other states or countries.

Re: Nurseries
You're welcome Luciano.

I forgot to mention that you were right that the sugar cane and the citrus industries are very important to us and I believe they are the biggest crops in our state.
